performance.jpg

e all'interno nel menù <Setting> :

performance2.jpg

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Boy this week has flown by. We're simply having way too much fun checking out the new camera system updates!

We've standardised the controls and cameras for both Driver and Surveyor, and added several new camera modes to expand the ways to experience Trainz. We can't wait to hear the feedback when we deliver the first beta to our Gold Class members (planned for next week).

In other news, we've also put a ton of work into investigating various cases of stuttering (Trainz that is), and we're making good progress on the mobile editions (both iOS and Android) which will be released later in the year.

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

With the release of the Trainz Plus beta for our Gold Class members this week, owners of Trainz A New Era and TRS19 will be pleased to know we're now working on getting Service Pack updates ready to head your way.

We're also preparing some special celebrations for the 4th birthday of TANE on May 15. So stay tuned...

Each quarter our Gold Class members are rewarded with an update to Trainz that delivers brand new features. The first of our "Trainz Plus" updates is now in beta testing and should be ready for official release by the end of the month.

Nello specifico

Trainz Plus Q1 2019 - Beta Release

By Tony_Hilliam, March 12 2019

Trainz Plus Beta Release

The highlight of the first Trainz Plus update is, without doubt, the new camera systems. We've unified the camera controls (and code) across Driver and Surveyor, provided improved control over camera movements, and added a range of new camera choices.

With more options, more control over the cameras, and new transitions from one location to another, your Trainz experience is going to feel smoother.

Drone camera lets you hover in a single location or attach to a train, Car cam lets you follow any of the Carz on the roads (but no internal view...yet ;), and you can smoothly change between certain camera modes by zooming in or out.

Positioning your viewpoint for the perfect screenshot  is easier than ever before, and getting into just the right position during a coupling operation is a breeze.

We're really looking forward to the feedback during the beta so that we can make some final tuning prior to release at the end of the month.

Since this is the first Trainz Plus update, we've prepared a set of Frequently Asked Questions to hopefully provide all the answers you'll need to know about Trainz Plus.

What is Trainz Plus?

Trainz Plus is a quarterly update provided to our Gold Class members and includes a range of new features and sneak peeks at upcoming features we're working on.

Most of the Trainz Plus features will find their way into future versions of Trainz.

Please note that these are not replacing "Service Packs" and we will still be releasing free updates for Trainz A  New Era and TRS19 owners.

What is new in this Trainz Plus update?

Our first Trainz Plus update includes:

  • a range of new camera options for both Driver and Surveyor
  • a new menubar in Surveyor
  • a new Session Logging window
  • a large number of small bugfixes and polish items

We’re also including the following in-development systems:

  • Console Controller support (Windows only)
  • Trainz Package uploader (for Content Creator in-game submissions)

How do I get access to Trainz Plus Beta?

If you are a Gold Class member, then just select the "Trainz Plus" update stream and patch as you normally would.

To change your patch stream:

  • Click Trainz Settings
  • Install Tab
  • Change Trainz Update Stream
  • Follow the prompts and click "Change Stream"
  • Select "Trainz Plus" from the list, then OK and Done.
  • Now click on Check for Trainz Updates to patch.

How stable is the Beta version?

We have tested the build extensively, and we are not aware of any regressions from your existing TRS19 "live" version.

That said, with the enromous variety of content, hardware, and usage cases, our beta testers usually manage to find a range of issues that we did not uncover in our internal testing.

Can I wait until the official release version?

Absolutely. There is no requirement to install the Beta version.

When will non-members get access to these features?

Any bug fixes (and some polish items) made for Trainz Plus will be released as part of a future Service Pack for TRS19.

Most of the Trainz Plus features will find their way into future versions of Trainz. (Others may be replaced/removed/updated).

Historically there has been a gap of two to three years between releases.

Where can I find out more about the new features?

Our Trainz Wiki Help Pages have been updated with information on the new systems:

As many of you know, the Trainz Community provide a large portion of the built-in content for each version of Trainz we release.

What you may not know is that those creators receive a share of the revenues, earning many thousands of dollars. We now have a dozen content creators who have earned over USD$10,000 in royalties, and several more well on their way to that milestone and beyond.

We're keen to expand that group, so if you have a route that you’ve been working on and it is semi complete (you expect to complete it within roughly the next 12 months) and are interested in having it built-in to the next version of Trainz then we would be interested in taking a look and discussing it further with you.

We are looking for a diverse list of routes from all over the globe. These can be prototypical, protolance or fictional. Any routes accepted into the built-in content set will see the creator(s) working closely with the team to help ready the route for release.

We would also be interested in:

  • Content creators with the skills to create:
    • Quality sessions
    • Individual assets (locomotives, cabs and rolling stock, trackside objects, splines and scenery)

  • High quality content, including:
    • Locomotives
    • Cabs
    • Rolling Stock
    • Track / Trackside
    • Scenery (static or splines)

If you are interested in becoming involved and earning money from your hobby, or you have the skills we are looking for please get in contact with us at contentcreators@n3vgames.com

We're also keen to expand our Downloadable content offering via our Trainz Store, plus Steam and Mac App Store. Again, many creators are earning decent revenues for their contributions.
You are welcome to sell the same content from your own webstore, so for those of you already selling on your own stores, you're definitely missing out on thousands of dollars in royalties.
We're keen to expand the range, the quality and the regional offerings. We have lots of demand for quality content, so it might be time to get in touch to find out more?
